Lab
I build the systems that run product businesses, then run the businesses on them. That means I work across four layers most people split into four jobs: product strategy, software, manufacturing, and go-to-market — and the value is in the connective tissue between them.
Where I’m strongest
Applied AI for commerce. I build on the Claude API and the Model Context Protocol in production, not in demos: multi-tenant agents with prompt caching and structured outputs, MCP servers that give AI agents real operating access to Shopify stores, and storefronts engineered so that agent-driven search can read and buy from them. I understand both sides — what merchants need and what the model can reliably do.
Zero-to-one product building. Full-stack in Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. I scope, ship, and support my own apps, and I decide what to build by operating the businesses that need it. The feedback loop is days, not quarters.
Design that ends in a physical part. Parametric, code-driven CAD in CadQuery and FreeCAD, toolpath automation through the Fusion 360 Python API, CNC on a Haas MiniMill, and a 60W MOPA fiber laser with rotary and cylindrical-unwrap engraving. A design change is a variable change; the full production package (STEP, STL, DXF, SVG, LightBurn) regenerates with it. I’m fluent in the trade-offs between what’s designable, what’s manufacturable, and what’s sellable.
E-commerce operations at depth. Seventeen years across Amazon FBA and Shopify DTC: catalog and listing ops, inventory through product transitions, returns economics, technical SEO, and B2B channels like ASI corporate gifting.
What I’m building now
A suite of Shopify apps for merchants who sell customized or physical products: Support Beam (AI customer support), Rogue Return (return labels without an order), and a custom-order command center that turns uploaded artwork and engraving specs into approved proofs. Alongside that, an MCP server on a cloud-browser platform that audits storefronts for AI-agent readiness, and AI-driven listing tools like Listing Llama for marketplace sellers.
Where I’m most useful
Early-stage or lean teams where the product, the tooling, and the operations aren’t separate departments yet. Roles that need someone who can talk to engineering, manufacturing, and customers in the same afternoon and ship something before the next one.
